Has your Hostmonster website or hosting account been shut down because of a malware infection? If so here are somethings you can do to get your site back online. Malware affects so many website owners these days its crazy. Literally over 30,000 websites are hacked every single day! This is for several reasons mainly the website owners forget to update their websites. Most of the websites that are hacked are running the WordPress platform. So what do you do?
Step one – You have to get rid of the malware. If they shut down your websites they will not allow your sites to be back online again until the server is clean. We offer a malware removal service that will fix this for you. You can request Hostmonster to give you a list of all the malicious files on your server and you can go remove them. Then they will put your sites back online. The problem is that you didn’t close the hole that let the hacker in your site in the first place. That’s why we suggest hiring a professional to fix this for you.
Step two – Once the website is back online you need to harden your website to prevent it from getting hacked again. If WordPress, install all new core files plus reinstall all plugins and themes. Change all passwords and make them very secure.
Step three – Remove your blacklist if you have any. You will need to login into your Google webmaster tools account and request Google to rescan your site to remove the warning. It usually takes them 4-24 hours for the entire process. If they find malware they will let you know and you will have to start this process over again. If you are clean then the warning will be removed.
